- Lice do not jump or fly. They have no wings. They "walk" from one hair or head to another.
- Pets cannot get lice.
- Lice infestation is rarely dangerous. At it's worst, secondary infections can develop from hours of scratching which can break the skin and allow bacteria to set in.
- A female louse can lay up to 100 eggs a month. She attaches them to the hair strands.
- Lice are very contagious and are easily spread from head to head or by shared combs, hats, etc..
- Lice cannot travel to other body parts.
- Some lice have grown resistant to over-the-counter remedies.
- No shampoo alone can get rid of lice. Manual removal of nits is essential to prevent reinfestation.
